Hello Ello, Instagram introduces Hyperlapse and Google Doodle turns 16

In this week’s weekly wrap, the social web goes crazy about Ello, Instagram enters the world of time-lapse video with Hyperlapse and the classic Google Doodle turns sixteen!

Ello!

The latest independent social media network ‘Ello’ has taken social media by storm. Ello has recently gone viral this week because it is the only known social networking site that requires an invite for users to be able to start up their own account.

This ad-free social network was released in March however its sudden popularity has made a name for itself being the ‘anti-facebook’ social media website.

Ello allows users to use fake names, be anonymous or have their identities seen. This choice has overwhelmed social media and has made Ello become one of the most desirable social networking forums as well as it being ad-free, users are saying that it is “so simple and organic to not have products being shoved in their face every second”.

Viral Video of The Week: Galaxy Tab S

With over 9.7 million views received within just 5 days, the Galaxy Tab S ad instantly became one of this week’s, most viral videos.

With competition such as Apple and its latest iPhone 6 being released, Samsung needed a killer advert to be in the limelight with their new product. They did just that by introducing their new tablet with actors Kirsten bell and Dax Shephard who play themselves featuring the tablet within their daily lives.

As this seems to be Apple’s latest challenge, Samsung simply implies that “you’ll never want to put it down” and in the 90-second advert- there isn’t a reason why.

In other news…

Recording time has never been so easy. Instagram has out done itself once again with installing its latest feature the ‘hyper lapse’.

The Hyper lapse features allows iPhone and iPad owners to capture and share moving time-lapse videos, however, what makes hyper-lapse so different is that the time lapse video allows the camera to move as well as the image.

Time-lapse photography, generally meant that the photographer would engage in a laborious effort to take photos of water washing over rocks or clouds rolling and then fasten the images to make a video.

Hyperlapse allows users to do this without the effort, resulting in 10-15 second videos of motion in our daily lives, which is usually unseen to the naked eye.

Google Doodles Sweet 16th

You know how Google’s homepage has a nearly a different design every single day? Well his name is Google Doodle and on the 28th of September it was his 16th birthday.

Google Doodle, an iconic legend, keeps up with various events ranging from Korean Thanksgiving to the 30th anniversary of PAC-MAN. Not only does Google Doodle keep us informed of these events, but can also transform himself into an interactive game on the odd occasion.

He never ceases to amaze us, and we wish him a belated happy birthday!
